A Sneak Peek

If you happen to be walking by the Carolina Theatre when the doors are open, you might glimpse an old friend: The theatre’s original façade has been painstakingly restored, now protected within the theatre’s new glass lobby (which was specifically designed to fit the classic stonework).

Due to its deteriorating state, the façade was removed in the early 2000s and stored in the basement of the theatre. After restoration began, it was moved to a municipal building and housed until it could be brought back to the Carolina.

In all, 130 pieces of stone and the original copper roof tiles were reused!

The refurbished façade will greet visitors when they visit the theatre in 2025 and beyond.
